Valencia 21th april

Today we set our alarm at 7:30 so that we were sure to get on time at the school. We ate at 8:00 and got on the bus at 8:40. We did not really know that people here have to be at work at 9 o clock while in the netherlands people start work at 8 o clock. So, we got into some busy traffic through the city. we arrived at the school at 9:10, we were 10 min late. When we arrived Anna told us that we would be going on an excursion with the 6th graders (primary) to the opera building and that it wasn't a problem that we were a little late. The people in spain are very relaxed and they don't really mind if you are late. We walked to the opera building because it is nearby, just a little walk through the riverbedding. On the way there i talked to some of the the girls and they were really curious about us, they tried to talk to us but their english was not so great. At the opera we saw some schools performing, an orgestra and a 14 years old boy on the piano. They were all very good and it was fun to watch all of them perform. The children liked it as well. After the performences we walked back to the school and siesta started and our schoolday was finished. Anne and i got on a bus and met up with Fleur and Lies to get lunch, we got some sandwiches and sat on the side of the square by the municipal building. The sun was shining and the sandwich was great. We walked home and chilled. At 6:30 p.m. the granddaughter of the 'portier' of the building visited to talk english with anne and me. Her name is Claudia and she is 10 years old. At first she was really shy. We played two games with her and she really liked it because she didn't want to leave when she had to. I had a great time helping het improve het english by just talking to us. It is a satisfying feeling to help a child. After tutoring Claudia we went for dinner. We went to a fastfood restaurant and got takeaway so we could eat it at the sqaure where also ate at lunch.
